Patrick Connelly is a media artist and communication designer currently based in London, England. He holds a Master of Design from NSCAD University in Halifax and a BFA Honours in the Visual Arts from the University of Victoria. He has taught graphic and web design at NSCAD University, and has exhibited his work internationally, and throughout Canada.
His professional experience as a designer is focused on graphic and web design for sustainability, with expertise in user-interface design, brand development, and identity design. He has consulted for organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, such as the Halifax Regional Municipality and the Sierra Club of Canada. Most recently, he led a cause-marketing and design initiative between cosmetics firm Aveda, and land conservation charity the Nova Scotia Nature Trust.
Connelly’s primary research interests are located in the impact of graphic and web design on the development of sustainable communities and behaviours. He continues to explore what constitutes effective visual communication in the context of a mutating information landscape.
